TRACK AND FIELD

Ariki Athletics — This Saturday, there is a club run/walk from our Guthrie Pavilion clubrooms. We will meet at 1.30pm and head out at 1.45pm. Parking is at the Shore St car park or down the back of Bayfield High School driveway. Please refer to our website re events or our programme section as there may be changes from time to time. Wednesday nights, meet at the Guthrie Pavilion, Bayfield Park, for a run/walk departing club rooms by 5.30pm sharp. Ariki Tuesday and Thursday training please phone A.J. 487 7765. Nearer to the season, starting in October, we invite you to check out the Ariki Children’s Athletics Facebook page for updates for registration nights. Note we plan to hold several Kids XC Runs in the winter — we will inform you. Refer to the ariki-athletics.org.nz website Events and Programme to see dates.

Caversham Harriers — This Saturday, the club cross country races will be held at the Waldronville Domain. The races will include both runners and walkers. The first race for Colts will start at 2pm. Members are encouraged to meet at the club rooms from 1.15pm to arrange car pooling. Entries are now open for the Edmond Cup Steeplechase Races to be held at Wingatui on Saturday, June 26. Weekly runs are held from cnr Hanover and Great King Sts on Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 5.45pm. Club inquiries to Alison Newall 027 433 2035 or Neville Shanks 021 266 7421. Hill City-University Athletics — This weekend we have the Shunters and Grunters relay from Hyde to Waipiata. We will meet at the clubrooms at 9am to organise transport options. Racing will start from the old Hyde railway station (just before Hyde) at 11.15am. We will have a van and car pool options. If you require a ride to the Logan Park Club rooms, please touch base with hcyharriers@gmail.com. Teams will be allocated on the day. Please bring a warm change of clothing for after the event. It can be very cold on the rail trail during this time of the year. The race will finish at the Waipiata pub, where we will have prize giving and a bite to eat. A small amount of food will be provided, but please either bring your own lunch or money for food/drinks.
