90% vaccinated in SDHB area

On Tuesday, 90% of Southern’s eligible population had received at least one dose of the Pfizer vaccine, gaining protection against the COVID-19 virus.

Those who are double-jabbed make up 77.9% of the eligible population.

Southern DHB COVID-19 vaccine rollout lead Hamish Brown said the achievement was thanks to the huge community efforts across Otago and Southland — including WellSouth and primary health care providers, local councils, and businesses.
