Bushtown Steam Up Day and South Island Woodchopping Championships: Dobson St, Waimate, from 9am today until 5pm tomorrow. Chainsaw carver Adrian Pugh sculpts birds. Heritage sawmill, steam traction engine ride, threshing of wheat sheaves, see how sawmilling pioneers lived, take a forest walk.
