Another six-month delay for community awards

Organisers of the planned Spirit of Wakatipu Gala and awards evening have been forced to postpone the event for a second time, due to the uncertainty around COVID and existing restrictions.

To have been held this month, event organiser Simon Green says under existing restrictions, it wasn’t going to be the celebration they’d planned — for a couple of reasons.

‘‘For us, we were hoping when we pushed back to November we would be starting to see that change with things opening up and local businesses and the community starting to get some positivity and confidence around what next year’s going to look like.
