Arts festival savours success

During October a small festival organising committee of members of Katch Katikati provided the town with many arty activities and crafts around the theme Lighting Up the Town — the giant illuminated Shrooms being a showstopper. From the first meeting this year to the removal of the festival flags this week, the workload has been huge — almost 900 hours. Open-Air Art chairman Steve Graveson thanked the festival organising team for their efforts in bringing the festival together in such challenging times with alert levels changing.

Kylie Watkins, who was on the organising committee says: “It’s bittersweet that the festival has come to an end for 2021.

“So many hours have been spent researching, planning and executing this month-long festival, so needless to say, there’s been some sleepless nights.
