Co-organiser Christine Bickel said they were delighted with the weather which attracted a large crowd

"We had the usual attractions of pony cart rides, Molly the Fire Engine rides, the bouncy castle and novelty races for the children.

We had more stalls than usual with about 24 this time."

Due to renovations to the home's kitchen and dining room facilities, along with Covid protocols, the 'café' offering tea and coffee and refreshments was held outside for the first time.

"The area set aside for food was very popular," Ms Bickel said.

The event took a lot of organising starting last October.

"We have to book the children's entertainments and to start advertising for stall holders. We encourage the residents to get involved and many have been helping in the weeks leading up to it as well as on the day."

About $2000 was raised from the 2021 event which went towards equipment for the residents.
