The EK9 Civic Type R was for Japan only and boasted a hand-ported 1.6-litre VTEC engine, limited-slip differential and kerb weight of just 1050kg.EP3 (2001-05)The second-generation Civic Type R was aimed at a wider audience, with a focus on Europe – it was even built there.
