Bowling club rolls back into action

After the first day’s play nine pairs qualified: Brown/Kennedy, B. Carter/Milligan, Anderson/Thorensen, L & M Bevan, Hudson/Sanders, Wylie/Mears, Monteith/Shepherd, Hirini/P. Madden and Riwaka/Nicholson.

A date for post-section play is to be advised.

Last weekend the men’s handicap singles was played with nine qualifiers making post-section: R. Hudson, F. Minnell, R. Anderson, A. Batty, G. Wylie, S. Riwaka, P. Madden, P. Brown and B. Woolston.

The final was played between Peter Brown and Francis Minnell. After some great bowls, Peter came out the winner 21-15.

Last weekend also saw the women’s centre triples being played with two teams from Central taking part.

The team of J. Mears, A. Kopke and E. Whittaker qualified for post-section but lost their second game.
