Kelvin Heights resident Russell King, who snapped this photo of their latest efforts last month, says ‘‘it’s been going on monthly for the last three or four months’’.

He’s reported it to council the last three times — ‘‘they do send someone to pat it down’’.

He’s heard the council plans to fence off the field, but so far all that’s been installed is fencing from the entrance driveway to the croquet club greens.
