Ex Silver Fern to speak at wellbeing evening

Former Southern Steel captain and Silver Fern Wendy Frew will speak at the event about her experiences, with a Q&A to follow

The catchment group covers the area between Mossburn, Five Rivers, Lumsden, Lintley and Castlerock.

Event organiser Peter Sim hoped the evening would get more people thinking about their wellbeing.

‘‘Hopefully it can tick those boxes,’’ Mr Sim said.

‘‘We are trying to get families more involved, so hopefully the children will come along too.’’

People often thought of catchment groups as being about the water, but personal welfare was also important, he said.

Money raised would go towards supporting the Southern Rural Support Trust.

‘‘In the background they run a low-key operation but they do a lot of good,’’ he said.
