The Hartley School of Performing Arts (HSPA) is gearing up for its senior / intermediate production Alice! An Adventure in Wonderland in the Rangiora Town Hall, with Bryony stepping up as director

The last time HSPA performed Alice! An Adventure In Wonderland was in 2012, with Bryony in the lead role of Alice.

Bryony says she loves creative writing and drama, so was thrilled to given the opportunity to rewrite the script and direct the show.

Rewriting the script has allowed her to put her own spin on it by adding some funny scenes, and making the show more enjoyable, which she hopes the audience will enjoy.

Bryony was 17-years-old when she played Alice in 2012, and says this year’s show is going to be completely different.

This time round, the characters are more accepting of Alice and celebrate differences, instead of making Alice feel like an outsider.

She hopes this will encourage people to be more accepting of those who are different and celebrate those differences, rather than shunning them.
