Dinosaurs have taken over Invercargill’s Gala St Reserve for a limited time event that’s fun for the whole family

Dino-enthusiasts and the prehistorically curious are in for a treat as Hamilton-based company The Amazing Dinosaur Discovery brings the extinct creatures to the city for a second weekend.

The event opened in Invercargill on Saturday and was full of families from throughout the region enjoying the once-in-a-65-million-year experience.

Ellie Meikle (4), who was visiting the Triceratops with dad Richard, said the display was very cool.

About 30 of the massive animatronic animals are on display, along with face-painting, inflatable parks, and ridable dinos.

Company director Paul Johnson said the display was essentially a pop-up educational theme park.
