Gold do well to defend small total

Similar to last week, Gold had lots of young ring-ins, six college kids and a dad

Batting first, Gold did well, batting all the way through to the final over, finally being bowled out for 175.

Young Luke Hibbert starred with the bat, top scoring with 46. Carl Warner scored 37 and ring-in dad Chris Lane added 27 to help get the score through to a semi-competitive total.

With 175 on the board, Gold had to make the most of every chance in the field and Hibbert removed the opening batsmen with some fast, bouncy bowling.

Then Kevin Pearson, in his short spell before he had to leave, took two for seven off four overs. Waitete batted well and got back in the game, being 95/5 at the drinks break.

The old heads of Warner and captain Brett Christopher teamed up to run out one of the key batsmen.
