The exhibition PLAY at He Waka Tuia opened to the public on Saturday. It displays a range of contemporary art and traditional toys as well as explores a range of ‘‘hands-on’’ activities to stimulate the creativity and enjoyment of families

He Waka Tuia manager Sarah Brown and curator Gemma Baldock finalised the last bits of the exhibition last Friday and said it was developed for tamariki, rangatahi and the young at heart.

‘‘It’s more than an exhibition — there’s lots to look at but also to touch and play with and then also things that will unlock some core memories for some visitors,’’ Ms Brown said.
