Musicians return to Rga

The concert, by Christchurch-born pianist Jun Bouterey-Ishido and his life partner Portuguese violinist Matilde Loureiro, on Wednesday, February 1, will begin at 7.30pm

The acclaimed musicians have been performing as a duo for the last five years.

They also play ‘‘all kinds of chamber music with other musicians’’ and perform solo.

The couple, are in New Zealand for a few months and will be performing several other concerts together in Canterbury and other areas, including Cromwell and Kerikeri.

Jun will also perform two solo performances while the couple are in New Zealand, the first in Christchurch next month at The Piano: Centre for Music and Arts, and the second in Nelson, during March.

The couple both enjoy performing in Rangiora.

‘‘We have often performed in the Chamber Gallery and love the intimate atmosphere of the venue, together with the friendly circle of music-lovers who come to listen,’’ Jun says.

Their Rangiora programme will include works by Chopin, Schubert and Beethoven.
