snug inside our bright insulation

kings and queens on the surface

where the surface is surfeit

blessed with our easy lives

so fortunate, so blithely free

on holiday of strange proportion

Such a pleasant town with its pastures

of sheep, willows banking the creek

blue skies, puffy clouds

watching fire and flooding elsewhere

while we bask in our cool contentment

Climate change? Not here! Not us!

Here the puffy clouds drift by

Same as they ever did
