Strathmore Golf Club: It was soggy underfoot but a perfect golfing day for the Eastern Districts Rural Services tournament. Despite some challenging conditions, some good golf was played, with Logan Tippett winning on 40, Vaughan Wood 39, and Kevin Miles 37

Confusion on tee-off led to the Louries, Sam and Loop, both being awarded the Cat Bowl. Many thanks to all sponsors for a great spread of prizes. Carrol Coulton was awarded life membership of the club. For the past 37 years, Carrol has held all offices and still continues playing and is on the committee.

On Sunday is the third round of club champs but all are welcome to come and play.

On June 4 is BJW Shoot Out. The Animal Health Tournament, which was going to be on June 25, will be postponed due to the Targa Rally on that day. Date to be advised.

Stratford Eltham Rugby: The first division match against New Plymouth Old Boys was a battle of attrition with both teams playing the pitch and weather.
