The first Dean Cup game takes place on Saturday, with cup-holders Whanga playing challengers Strathmore in the Republic.

Stratford Football Club: On Sunday, the Tungsten Legal Women played Woodleigh. Woodleigh are a developing team and gave the Stratford women a good challenge. Final score 12-0.

There were three goals to Cacia Triggs, two to Arna Bright, Amanda Riddick and Charlie Carr and one goal each for Ella Bright, Caitlin Howard and Natasha Moffat. Player of the day was Amanda Riddick against her old team.

While the McDonald Real Estate First team had a rest, the Reserves travelled to Eltham and, despite scoring first, ended up losing the fixture 3-2 with goals to Jamie Pretty.

The Honda Hub U-18s lost 4-3 to New Plymouth Boys’ High School. Hub were down four-nil at halftime but came back to lose by one. The Honda Hub U-15s had a knockout plate match vs NPBHS — they lost 7-0, with player of the day going to Sian Neilson.
