She creates works that, given time and mood to gaze into, conjure gentle memories of these quiet places in nature

Lynn Price lives in Nelson, a stone's throw from the sea.

"There is so much inspiration just outside my window," she says.

"The shifting tide lines, random pebbles, reflections and light on the ocean edge.

I've recently started to develop works that will evoke West Coast rivers, with a greener palette and a glint of gold. I hope to have some of them at Art in the Park."

Artistry, technique and intense heat go into making fused glass art.

Lynn Price makes initial drawings, selects the coloured glass and cuts it to the shapes she wants, then works in many layers, adding wisps of non-precious and precious metals.

These elements will blend and flow together in her glass kiln to create exquisite shapes, colours and textures.
