Under-19s work hard to set record straight

The two teams played in Division 1 last year when the result was one apiece. From the very first minute, JPC applied relentless pressure, keeping possession and moving the ball around. There were times when the Katikati defence was caught napping which resulted in JPC getting their first goal in the 16th minute

Katikati had chances. In the 23rd minute Sam Taylor’s shot was blocked by the opposition while two minutes later the JPC keeper saved Ashton Coxhead’s shot. JPC got their second goal through a penalty in the 30th minute to go two-nil up.

In the second half, after a good team talk in the break, Katikati U19 boys came out guns blazing. Maintaining possession and moving the ball early was what the plan was. In the 50th minute, Katikati got their first goal through some brilliant play by Sam Taylor. This provided some added energy to the boys that saw Katikati score their second goal, however, JPC had other ideas, and a quick counter-attack...
