Whanganui gives generously

The generosity of the public surpassed all expectations and the City Mission Food Bank shelves are now bulging. Thank you Whanganui, says Terry.

Up until last year, the average number of boxes of food collected was about 365. Last year this lifted to close to 500 boxes or an increase of some 35 per cent and this year the total placed into the bank’s stores was more than 560 boxes, or a year on year further increase of nearly 15 per cent. This clearly demonstrates to us the effect that COVID has had on public perception and concern for the needs of many parts of our community.
