I read the review of Ilan Pappe's book by Hugh Steadman in the January/February issue (vol 33, no 1). In it Steadman notes Pappes reference to the cleansing of Arab townships between November 1947 and May 1948. He includes Haifa, but I was in Haifa from January 1948 to mid-March and again at the end of April, and I can assure the author and the reviewer that there were plenty of Arabs still in Haifa at that time.
