I'm rather behind the times on this, but having just picked up the July/ August 2008 issue of NZIR for another look, I noticed that the photo on p.6, captioned 'A recent protest in Wellington against rising Asian immigration to New Zealand', actually shows a demonstration in October 2004 organised by the group Multi-Cultural Aotearoa to oppose racism and fascism and to counter anti-migration sentiment (the 'Asians welcome' placards are clearly visible in the photo).
