Sir,

New Zealand has embarked on a programme to uncover fake news and its sources on social media. I wonder if this is, or could become, an exercise by incumbent powers to suppress opinion they do not agree with, or approve of. Or if it is robust. With your help I would like to test it.

The focus of the NZIR's last issue (vol 47, no 2) is climate change. I absolutely agree that it exists. What I question is its source. Without using up a lot of space, I refer you to YouTube and an article I published there some five years ago under the title 'Bodies in the Sea -Global Warming, Climate Change and Mediterranean Migration' (www.youtubecom/watch?v=rKBz9qosaVU). I would caution you to key in as much of that (very poor) title as you can before hitting the enter key.
