1 Title

This Act is the Land Transport Amendment Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Principal Act

This Act amends the Land Transport Act 1998 (the principal Act).

4 Section 74 amended (Procedure for dealing with blood specimens)

In section 74(7)(c), delete part of the.

5 Section 79V replaced (Search warrants in relation to offences against section 79T or 79U)

Replace section 79V with:

79V Search warrants in relation to offences against section 79T or 79U

An issuing officer (within the meaning of section 3 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012) may issue a search warrant in relation to a place, vehicle, or other thing if, on application made by a constable in the manner provided in subpart 3 of Part 4 of that Act, he or she is satisfied that there are reasonable grounds—

1. to suspect that an offence has been, is being, or will be committed against section 79T or 79U; and

2. to believe that the search will find evidential material in respect of the offence in the place, vehicle, or other thing.

6 Section 91A amended (Interpretation)

In section 91A, definition of traffic offence, paragraph (a), after the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986,, insert the Road User Charges Act 1977,.

7 Section 140 amended (Contents of infringement and reminder notices)

In section 140(2)(c), after alleged offence, insert ; and.
