On 8 June Hon David Parker, the minister of trade and export growth, launched New Zealand's 'Trade Recovery Strategy' at an online event organised by the NZIIA. Independent consultant Sarah Paterson moderated the event.

On 18 June Anna Fifield, the Washington Post's Beijing Bureau chief, addressed a meeting at Victoria University of Wellington on 'North Korea under Kim Jong Un'.

Andrew Hampton, the director general of the Government Communications Security Bureau, gave a presentation on 'Cyber Security in the COVID-19 World' on 3 August.

On 6 August an election debate moderated by Tova O'Brien was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington on 'Aid, Trade and New Zealand's Place in the World after COVID'. The participants were Hon David Parker (Labour), Simon Bridges (National), Fletcher Tabuteau (New Zealand First), Golriz Ghahraman (Greens) and David Seymour (ACT).
