KARIIM DICKIE

A graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, Karim Dickie is a Wellington-based public servant. He chaired the NZIIA's Wellington branch from 2020 until stepping down at the branch's AGM on 29 May. He is the president of the United Nations Association of New Zealand, the executive director of the Caribbean Council and a board member of Commonwealth Youth New Zealand. In 2016-17 he served as the executive secretary and protocol assistant to East Timor's ambassador to New Zealand, and from 2015 to 2019 he was attached to Radio New Zealand. With experience in governance, strategic planning, communications and stakeholder engagement, he has a particular interest in strengthening the NZIIA's international partnerships and corporate relationships.

DAVID EVANS

David Evans is manager of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Strategy and Performance Division. After graduating from the University of Auckland, he joined the ministry in 1998 as a legal adviser. His first posting overseas was to New Zealand's Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva (2002-05). He later served successively as deputy ambassador at the New Zealand embassy in Beijing (2012-16) and deputy high commissioner in London (2016-21). He has represented New Zealand in a number of WTO dispute cases and served as a panellist in four WTO disputes. Returning to Wellington in 2021, he managed the ministry's China Unit for two years. He represents the ministry on the Board ex officio, replacing Raylene Liufalani.
