Stuart McMillan is one of New Zealand's best known and respected commentators and analysts of international affairs, including nearly forty years in this specialist field with the Christchurch Press. He has had a longstanding association with the Christchurch branch of the NZIIA, being president there between 1993 and 1999, and he remains a stalwart member of the branch committee. This engagement has been present at national level and Stuart is an honorary vice-president of NZIIA. He was an ANZAC fellow in 1976 and was appointed a member of Order of the British Empire in 1987.
