Putin undermined The Crocus City Hall terrorists tried to flee to Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko said yesterday, undermining Vladimir Putin’s claims that the attackers were backed by Ukraine and tried to escape there. Speaking to Belarus media, Lukashenko said he closed the border with Russia following a personal request from Putin after the attack. “That’s why they turned around and went toward the Ukrainian-Russian section of the border,” he said. On Tuesday, Putin said Islamist radicals carried out the attack but it appeared to have been orchestrated by Ukraine. Isis claimed responsibility for the attack in which 139 people were killed at a concert venue outside Moscow. Four suspects were detained in Bryansk region on the Ukraine and Belarus border
