Celebrating spring blooms in A’town

Although cancelled last year due to COVID, the show, about to mark its 99th year, has a long history of chasing away the winter blues, organiser Wendy Clarke says

Always held at the town’s Athenaeum Hall, Clarke says it’s been well supported and, given the growth of the community and Arrowtown School’s involvement, ‘‘it’s just got great heart’’.

‘‘There are a lot of keen gardeners here, but we have these long, hard winters and it’s a really a celebration of spring,’’ she says.

Along with blooms from across the district, the show also displays arts and crafts and baking, with qualified judges deciding the best of each bunch.
