Low turnout for trustee election

Every Electra account holder was eligible to vote, although only 12.15 per cent of voters participated

Elections.com returning officer Warwick Lampp said there were 5538 votes received from 45,567 eligible electors, of which 63.63 per cent voted online and 36.37per cent voted by post.

There was no limit to how few votes were received to constitute an election.

The three highest polling candidates were Sharon Crosbie, former mayor Brendan Duffy and Russell Longuet, who now take up positions as trustees.

There were seven candidates for the three trustee positions.
