The (upper) Ohau River flowing between Lakes Ohau and Ruataniwha, Twizel, has been designated a controlled fishery for the month of October (in addition to September). This means only anglers who entered the recently held ballots and won a controlled period licence can fish the Ohau River on specified dates during October 2022
