■ A note of appreciation to the people in line outside Pak ‘n Save on Friday morning. My husband and I arrived by taxi and were immediately told that we should not join the queue but get a trolley, sign in and go shopping. This was great as far as we were concerned so we followed the advice. We therefore want to thank everyone for their concern and acceptance of the situation.

■ Thumbs up to those Taupō businesses that do not discriminate against any of their customers for any reason at all.

■ Thumbs up to all those who donated blankets to the Red Cross project. The blankets will be stored and used by Taupō Civil Defence and Emergency in the event of a disaster.

■ Thumbs down to all the shop keepers that don’t obey the law to wear a mask and have customers who also don’t wear a mask and keep two metres distance. You would not sell alcohol to a minor because that is breaking the law but you will sell to a customer who does not wear a mask and...
