Action-filled second half led to match draw

The Southland Football Kolk Cup game was played at Wyndham on Saturday

Last week the team had a bye.

The game was scoreless until 10 minutes into the second half when a nicely timed pass in to space from wing Caitlin Ludow, 16, was picked up by Freya Bols who beat the goalkeeper to score.

Wyndham kept the Old Boys attack at bay until the last eight minutes of the game when the Invercargill team scored.

Wyndham quickly struck back when Ludow found the back of the net after connecting with a pass sent across the mouth of the goal.

However, Old Boys not to be outdone scored in the dying minutes of the game.

Player-coach Wendy Gannon said given the past few seasons' results the team had made a promising start to the season.
