Aid given during Road Safety Week

Council road safety co-ordinator Rachel Harrison toured the offices of Balclutha police, St John and Fire and Emergency New Zealand, presenting them with squads of CDC soft toys

‘‘Road Safety Week is a celebration of our road safety heroes.

‘‘Our emergency services are regularly coming to the aid of vulnerable young people and appreciate being able to give them something to help them cope in incredibly stressful situations,’’ Mrs Harrison said.

‘‘We’ve also presented koha to the traffic safety teams at our schools and organised road traffic stops with Balclutha police to hand out some cool gifts to our local drivers.’’
