Fair convener Margaret Martyn said people should keep an eye out for the items on the white elephant stall, as they would be gone quickly.

"It's worth coming this year.

"Last year we were pushing the jam but I don't think we have as much this year," Mrs Martyn said.

The baking was also a hot commodity.

"[It] always goes first."

Other stalls would sell gardening items, knitting items, accessories and cheese rolls.

People could barter for items on the white elephant stall on the day, she said.

"There will be lots of bargains."
