The Outback Engineering Development Team beat the Leishman Funeral Services Women 3-0. They played a shortened preseason game due to a default to the men from an Invercargill team

The women had a strong game but conceded after 20 minutes. They kept their heads high and kept pushing as the game continued. It was good to see the team get behind each other and not let the score get to their heads.

Balclutha draw with Queens

Following the curtain raiser the Andrew Haulage Men played Queen’s Park in a tight battle.

Clutha started with a tasty looking back line which included Thomas ‘‘Ham’’ Hamilton and James ‘‘Cheese’’ Cheesman. Due to their dominance they changed from a 4-4-2 formation to a 3-5-2, leaving Matt Morahan in the middle as the meat in the sandwich. However things turned sour when a slip-up at the back allowed a one-on-one to be slotted by Queens Park.

Clutha played great passing football at times, creating more chances but not quite hitting the old onion bag, until they made a heroic...
