Police make plea over family violence

The incident occurred about 4.30pm on the riverbank south of Charlotte St in Balclutha where two girls were approached by larger group of females aged about 15 who assaulted them and attempted to take their belongings

Inquiries are ongoing.

Several family violence reports have arisen over the last week as tensions have been running high, thought to be due to more stressful times due to COVID-19. Police are encouraging people to seek help.
